Emirates Provides Best Bet for Dubai World Cup
As the racing world’s eyes turn to Dubai and the world's richest horse race, the Dubai World Cup with a purse of US$6
million, title sponsor Emirates Airline is pitching in with attractive packages for its customers.
The packages offer New Zealand race-goers a two-night stay in a range of three- to five-star hotels in Dubai starting
from as little as US$76 per person per night. Customers receive assistance on arrival at Dubai International Airport
from an Arabian Adventures team, an Arabian Adventures welcome pack with Privilege Discount Card and return transfers
from the airport to hotel. Arabian Adventures is Emirates’ leisure division which offers a host of exciting activities
in Dubai.
In addition to the above, Emirates customers can also book the special Dubai World Cup International Village packages in
conjunction with accommodation from a range of hotels. These packages start from US$109 per person and include tickets
to the International Village, the hub of all social activity at the race, coach transfers from the hotel to the race
venue and back, and complimentary official magazines and race cards on arrival. These packages are available for booking
until February 20.
The Dubai World Cup will be held this year on March 29.
Emirates flies its wide-bodied aircraft four times daily from New Zealand to Dubai and beyond, via Australia, offering
full service, meals and wine in First, Business and Economy class on all flights. Most services also have Emirates'
award-winning 'ice' inflight system, providing more than 600 channels of information, communication and entertainment.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: “The Dubai World Cup is one
of those occasions when you can literally feel the pulse of the city of Dubai. The throbbing social life together with
the action on the track lend the event the excitement and atmosphere we have all come to love and look forward to every
year. We encourage all our customers to visit Dubai and experience the thrill of the richest horse race in the world.”
The Dubai World Cup is a series of six thoroughbred horse races which have been held annually for the last 12 years at
the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in Dubai. Run under the auspices of the Emirates Racing Authority, the event has come to be
synonymous with the highest standards both on the track and off. The glamour and excitement at the International
Village, where women in fancy hats and attire compete for the best dressed title in the popular Fashions on the Field
contest, makes it the place to be and be seen.
The International Village offers a host of food and beverage outlets, bars, an exhibition stand, live entertainment and
race coverage on a giant screen. Regular race results and competition schedules are broadcast live from a dedicated DJ
booth, while the resident DJ ensures the party continues full pelt.
For those who want a close-up view of all the racing action, International Village patrons will have access to the
paddock lawns located by the rails adjacent to the paddock. The unmistakable atmosphere of the International Village
makes it a popular choice for many race goers. The event will culminate with a post-racing live entertainment programme.
