Universal Welcomes First Resident To The Landing
Universal Homes' first resident at The Landing, which is part of Tauranga's exciting new, grand-scale residential
development, The Lakes, has moved into their new home.
This landmark event puts Universal well ahead of its building schedule and follows on from the opening of The Landing's
first show home earlier this month.
"We have been delighted at the progress we are making at this development," says Universal Homes Project Manager Mark
Wandhill.
"We were the first company to open a show home, and now we are among the first to have a property occupied."
North Shore-based Universal Homes has 19 properties under construction at The Landing, most in the early stages. Nine,
including the show home, have already been sold. The homes are in a prime position and are close to the spectacular lake
that is one of the key features of the new community.
"There has been an amazing response to our properties at The Lakes from local people as well as buyers from other parts
in the country," says Universal Homes Sales and Marketing Manager Mike Pearce.
"Our new show home is very busy already. We are expecting a lot of visitors over the holiday period - local people
looking for a new home, and others considering this special new community for their holiday home or investment
property."
Over the next three years, Universal Homes will build more than 100 houses of 12 different designs at The Landing. Each
home will be stand-alone, with plenty of visual variety and floor plans ranging in size from the single-level
167-square-metres option to the two-storey 221-square-metres design. At present, prices for the properties range from
$485,000 to $570,000.
Overall, 2000 homes will be built at The Lakes, which is located on the south-west outskirts of Tauranga and will
eventually include parks and reserve areas, children's playgrounds, lakes, walks and cycleways, along with a shopping
centre, and childcare and medical facilities.
