ciber Wins contract with new zealand’s ezibuy
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – 19 November 2007 – CIBER Inc. has been chosen to implement a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) computing system for New Zealand-based EziBuy, a leading international retailer in the southern hemisphere. The new system will be implemented in phases, with completion projected in mid-2008.
CIBER ANZ (Australia/New Zealand) will implement the following SAP applications: SAP Financials, Procurement, Merchandise Management, Internet Sales Order Processing, and SAP Business Warehouse. CIBER will also implement SAP NetWeaver with the Exchange Infrastructure for integration with the existing POS and Warehouse Management systems.
In addition, CIBER will implement its novaRetail application, a pre-configured packaged solution that enables companies to cost-effectively implement an optimised SAP Retail System within 3-4 months instead of a typical 10-12 month implementation. NovaRetail is based on the mySAP ERP Platform and includes a wide range of retail-specific functionality based on industry best practices and CIBER’s unique retail knowledge of local requirements and worldwide retail and SAP experience.
EziBuy’s IT Manager Hamish Grant says, “We chose novaRetail for four main reasons:
1. It is based on SAP for Retail which is gaining good market share and credibility in APAC.
2. We were, and are impressed by the professionalism and track record of CIBER ANZ.
3. This is a product that is financially-based and fits our business. This will help us to grow further and faster.
4. Most importantly, in our business, every logistical transaction MUST have an equal and opposite financial action. CIBER and novaRetail helps us achieve this.”
CIBER’s Managing Director Guenter Winter says, “Our team is proud to have secured the opportunity to be working with EziBuy and SAP to implement an optimised retail solution, with a proven methodology and change management approach to reduce cost and risk through the project.”
EziBuy is a New Zealand success story. It was established in 1978 selling womenswear via mail order catalogue in a small administrative and warehouse complex and a single store in Palmerston North, NZ. Since then, EziBuy has grown and now boasts a growing network of retail stores, a state-of-the art Contact Centre, and a Distribution Centre that is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
Thirty years after it was founded, EziBuy has established itself as the leading multi-channel retailer in Australasia with over 50% of its customers across the Tasman. It is one of the few New Zealand companies to successfully integrate into the Australian market and is an outstanding example of one that has achieved on an international level.
Today EziBuy produces over 35 catalogues annually that are mailed to more than half a million active customers in New Zealand and Australia. The company dispatches an average of 9,000 parcels a day to Australasian shoppers and processes approximately 2 million orders per year.
