Toast Martinborough & Wines From Martinborough today announced that Rachael Fletcher has been appointed as General Manager of the respective
organisations, with effect 10/12/07.
"Rachael will be an excellent addition to our team. She's vibrant and passionate about the region and wine industry, and
will be a great fit with the grape growers and wine producers of the region," said Andrew Shackleton, Chairman of Toast
Martinborough. "She has a high level of marketing expertise, and strong communication skills, which will play a vital
role in fostering relationships with key media, trade and stakeholders."
Previously Marketing Manager for LV Martin & Son, Fletcher was responsible for all marketing and promotional activity of the business, including events management,
media buying and negotiations. Prior to this, she worked for the Local Government Information House in London, leading
the marketing and communications strategy, and organising seminars and workshops with throughout the United Kingdom.
"The wine village of Martinborough is home to an unsurpassed charm, and is renowned for producing premium grapes and
wines of world-class quality. Just an hour's drive from Wellington city, this is a haven for great food, heavenly wine
and stunning scenery, it struck me as the perfect position having moved to the region 2 years ago," said Rachael
Fletcher.
Wines from Martinborough was formed in October 2004 to cohesively market Martinborough as a premium wine region,
nationally and internationally, and to celebrate the unique diversity of the region. Toast Martinborough Wine, Food and
Music Festival is a key fixture in the New Zealand Wine and Food calendar. The popularity of Toast Martinborough is
reflected in the demand for tickets, with the 10,000 tickets to this year's event selling in a record-breaking 19
minutes.
This year's Toast Martinborough Festival was held on Sunday18th November, and the day was a memorable Martinborough
experience for all those who attended.
