Queenstown Company Villasqueenstown.Com Double Win In Business Awards
A brand new multi-million dollar accommodation development in central Queenstown has hit the headlines again less than a month after opening.
Queenstown development company villasqueenstown.com won two major awards on Friday night (November 16) at a black tie dinner for the Queenstown Business Excellence Awards, in association with the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce.
The company took out top honours in the Print Central New and Emerging Business category for private sector businesses that have been in operation for less than two years, and also won the MacTodd Excellence in Trade, Services and Construction Award.
Fourteen large, alpine-style Commonage Close villas, developed by villasqueenstown.com, took three years to complete at a cost of around $36 million and only officially opened as high-end accommodation providers on October 18.
Aimed at the leisure, family, group and business markets, the privately-owned villas are managed by Commonage Villas, a joint venture between the iconic Eichardt’s Private Hotel, and villasqueenstown.com.
On October 31 it was announced that Commonage Villas had scored a tourism coup by being selected as the venue for the PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008 tourism showcase next May. Forty-five high end international Buyers will meet 45 luxury tourism product operators from around New Zealand over a three-day period.
Villasqueenstown.com directors Wayne Foley, Ross Marett and Bert Govan said they were absolutely thrilled with the latest awards accolade.
“Our company prides itself on its ‘vision of excellence’ for all its developments, so to be recognised by the Chamber as one of Queenstown’s outstanding new businesses is testimony to the hard work and commitment we have shown to the Commonage Close development,” said Mr Foley.
He also praised the hard work and commitment to quality of villasqueenstown Client Project Manager Roy van Leeuwen, who received the construction award.
“We’ve had a fantastic construction team over the past three years and the quality comes from their finishing skills,” said Mr van Leeuwen.
