Partnership On Exports
Business NZ has endorsed the directions outlined at today’s Export Year summary meeting.
A group of private and public sector organisations with an export perspective have released a Platform for the Future, a vision for improving the country’s export performance.
Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly says his organisation is supportive of the joint approach.
“This doesn’t mean we believe the environment for business couldn’t be improved. Our members include exporters who are hurting from the high exchange rate and others whose prospects of exporting are affected by other difficulties in the business environment.
“However, business does support a private-public approach to the issue of exporting.
“The need for better export performance is crucial to all New Zealanders’ futures.
“Platform for the Future, with its action plans for both the public and private sectors, is a valuable outcome from Export Year.”
