Get Involved, Dairy Farmers Urged
Federated Farmers is strongly advising all Fonterra suppliers to get involved in the discussion on important changes to the capital structure of their co-operative, said Frank Brenmuhl, chair of the dairy section of Federated Farmers.
“Dairy farmers will be pleased that a process is now underway to review the ownership structure of Fonterra, and that Fonterra is taking the time to explore the opinions and values of its shareholders,” Mr Brenmuhl said.
“We would encourage all Fonterra shareholders to ensure they are well informed and take part in this debate to ensure the best decision is reached.
“Federated Farmers will be holding meetings with its dairy members to promote reasonable debate and help disseminate all relevant information to shareholders.
“We will work with Fonterra to ensure that shareholders make the best decision for all farmer-suppliers,” Mr Brenmuhl said.
