Tourism Holdings' Newest Venture Successful
Due to Initial Success Explore More Quadruples Staff and Vehicles
08 NOVEMBER 2007, AUCKLAND: After only four months in business, Tourism Holdings’ newest company, Explore More – the low cost car and campervan hire company – is quadrupling its staff and vehicles to match customer demand.
Responding to positive customer research, which praised staff for excellent customer service and vehicles for their great condition, Explore More now offers more travellers more vehicles. There are 3 new car categories and 2 new camper categories allowing Explore More to maintain its position of being as fun and flexible as its adventurous customers, who can roam New Zealand at their own price and pace.
Tara Baskerville, Marketing Manager of Explore More, says of the news, “It doesn’t get much better than this. In just four months we’ve had so much business we’re already able to quadruple staff and vehicles! Explore More has had a fantastic utilisation rate, meaning most of our fleet is flying out the door and on the road. And the timing couldn’t be better – this expansion comes just as we’re preparing for the exciting summer season.”
The company has also expanded its website, www.exploremore.co.nz, to give customers more choice when planning and researching their holiday, and most importantly giving them the confidence to hire a car or campervan online before arriving in New Zealand.
Campervans:
The campervan category has tripled from 40 to 120 campervans, with Explore More now offering a large top-end Mercedes Benz called the The Tron and a cool cruiser called The RotoVegas. A customer survey conducted by Explore More concluded that many customers wanted the option of a 2-berth vehicle with more comfort and storage.
Cars:
As well as more campers, the car fleet has increased fivefold from 50 to 250 vehicles. Cheap entry-level pricing still exists but customers now have a greater choice with vehicles that offer more space and power.
As the newest company launched by world-famous sister company Kiwi Experience, which for 18 years has provided unforgettable holidays to thousands of travelers, Explore More ensures travellers not only have a large selection of vehicles to choose from but also offers:
§          The most affordable deals on the market;
§          Vehicles available to 18 year olds and over;
§          Free pick-up and drop-off arrangements;
§          No hidden small print in the terms and conditions;
§          And, ultimately, comprehensive and personlised travel information for each customer.
The Queenie:
The Queenie is a 2-berth hi-top compact, feature-filled campervan, affectionately nicknamed after one of our most popular tourist destinations, Queenstown. Like the town, it’s a tidy, compact campervan packed with a surprising number of great living features. You can watch movies, cook a feed, or enjoy the view – all from your comfy bed. The perfect adventure camper for mates or couples after comfort, style, and affordability.
The RotoVegas:
A stylish 2-berth cruising camper that drives like a car. Campervan hire has never been so cool! With the ease of a car and the space of a camper, the RotoVegas, named after Rotorua, is custom built for convenient simple living. It has a smooth automatic transmission, a powerful but economical engine and a bed you can put together in less than 20 seconds. Take the ultimate trip in this funky camper.
The Tron:
Large 2-berth camper for those who appreciate more space and more ‘stuff’, The Tron (named after Hamilton – New Zealand’s largest inland city) is the vehicle for you. This camper is not just bigger; there is also more storage space, more standing room, more kitchen stuff, and a walkway from the cab right through to the big double doors at the back. A campervan for those who want it all…or own it all and need to bring it with them.
The Gizzy:
Welcome to the Gizzy, the cheap and easy ride from A to Z to Zzzzs. Cheap and economical compact car for travellers on a budget. Named after Gisborne, famous for its wine, beaches, and great surfing breaks, this economical machine is the perfect rental car to cruise New Zealand with mates or a hassle-free ride with your better-half.
The Palmy:
A sleek, economical, hatchback perfect for no-worries travelling. Cars don’t get easier to drive than the Palmy, a late model economy hatch with all the latest technology! Like the residents of its namesake (Palmerston North – a rural student city) the Palmy also focuses on being an economical car more than capable of getting you from the big cities to the more remote places of New Zealand. So kick back, listen to some tunes, and enjoy a smooth ride with us.
The Welly:
A cheap, easy-to-drive small wagon great for adventuring in New Zealand. Half hatch-back, half station wagon – the Welly combines the ease and economy of driving a smaller car with the space of a wagon. Its deceptive size reminds us of our capital city Wellington, hence the name. So, make the most of that extra space by grabbing another mate to join your New Zealand adventure and hit the road today!
The Hoki:
A smooth looking wagon for travellers needing space and style. For those who haven’t packed light, or want to shop large, our Hoki (named after Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island) is the way to go. With plenty of space, a little more power and a lot of style, the Hoki is the ideal car for skiing, surfing, or just getting amongst our beautiful country.
