for Christmas.
Freedom Farms hams are produced from New Zealand pork raised on farms at the foothills of the Southern Alps. Their farms
are the only SPCA certified pork farms in New Zealand. The SPCA seal of approval comes with the guarantee that all
Freedom Farms hams come from free-farmed ‘happy’ pigs. That means they’ve lived the good life - raised with open fields,
mud holes, and deep straw shelters - no sow crates, no farrowing crates, no cages, no pens and certainly no growth
hormones.
By far the majority of hams consumed in New Zealand each Christmas are produced from frozen, imported pork that has been
intensively raised. Because the country of origin is not declared, consumers have no way of knowing how humanely the
pork has been farmed, or if it has been raised with growth hormones and chemicals.
More and more consumers worldwide are insisting on knowing more about the origins of their food and are demanding higher
quality, more naturally farmed foods. Kiwis are no exception.
