Award Winning Architect’s Unique Home on Market
22 December 2006
One of Cambridge’s most spectacular homes has just come on to the market, complete with elevated views of the
countryside and 21.3 hectares of mature native bush and bush life on its back door.
Designed by multi-award winning Keiser Architecture, the one-off uniquely styled home on 345 Maungakawa Road, Cambridge,
is being marketed by Philip Coles and Sara Bryers from Harcourts Cambridge for $1.68 million. “It is very private and
there is nothing around like this. This would have to be the most significant and outstanding home in the area,” said Mr
Coles.
Built in 2001, this national award winning contemporary home includes expansive glazed sliding walls up to 3.6m high
opening to decks providing panoramic views of the native bush and Waikato basin. As well as its own bush which was
extensively tracked, the property adjoined the Maungakawa Scenic Reserve which is one of New Zealand’s top ecological
conservation areas.
Since the initial marketing began a fortnight ago, Mr Coles reported very strong interest with over 20 genuine viewing
groups going through the property.
He added that as well as the home, people were very impressed with the Cambridge area as a whole which included a very
attractive and quaint town and the nearby world-class rowing lake, Karapiro. As a result, increasing numbers of city
dwellers and UK buyers seeking a high quality picturesque rural lifestyle and grand designer homes were becoming more
prevalent.
