Just in time for Christmas shoppers, a long awaited one stop online shop for quality Mâori language resources and
products is being launched today by Haemata Limited.
The Haemata web store has something for everyone, with products and resources for ‘at work’, ‘at play’, ‘at home’ and
‘at school’.
Parents, teachers, family and friends worldwide will be able to buy resources online including talking Mâori language
books, jigsaws, games and puzzles, children’s waiata and interactive CDs. The aim is to bring new products to shoppers
each month.
The idea started with the design of Haemata’s Piri Pâua baby products range. Piri Pâua products include beautiful Mâori
language phrases and rhymes for babies. They make unique gifts for any new baby and are a fantastic way to support
parents, whânau and caregivers in speaking Mâori with their children.
Haemata director, Hineihaea Murphy says, ‘When we were establishing an online facility for distributing Piri Pâua
products, the concept grew into wanting to provide a whole range of Mâori language products and resources on one easy to
access site. There are so many great Mâori language products out there and until now it has been difficult for people to
know where to get them. We hope that will change with the web store’.
