Innovative Kiwi Online Hire Purchase Tool Generates High Interest Overseas
WELLINGTON - A break-through online finance calculator, developed by Wellington online hire purchase company Perweek.co.nz, is generating interest from overseas companies interested in licensing the software behind it.
Perweek.co.nz sells new items on hire purchase with the use of a fast, clearly displayed online calculator showing the “perweek allocation” necessary to purchase any item on the site.
The software behind the tool has been designed to permit either franchising or partnering with companies in different countries.
Perweek founder and managing director, Peter Terpstra says the tools are flexible and simple to operate, despite the complex coding behind it. “The reasoning behind the modular design is to allow the technology to work with individual countries’ unique consumer finance legislation and risk management data.”
Mr Terpstra says the company is focused currently on launching real time product and customer risk profiling, which sits behind the Perweek prices. The company is fielding enquiries from several countries interested in its innovative use of technology in the finance field.
Mr Terpstra says they are interested in any banks, finance companies and others who have capabilities in the risk and finance areas.
Although no deals have been concluded, Mr Terpstra says that the company is buoyed by the strong interest in what it is doing with some ‘kiwi ingenuity’.
