Australia’s Largest Show Beckons Kiwis
Kiwis are invited to ‘experience the real Australia’ with the release of special travel packages for next year’s famous and iconic event, the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The Sydney Royal Easter Show is Australia’s largest annual public event and one of the largest events of its kind in the world, attracting around one million visitors every year.
Available through House of Travel, the packages include two nights’ accommodation, Air New Zealand flights (departing Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch) and an entry ticket to the Show. Packages are priced from $1099 (per person share twin).
Regional Director for Tourism New South Wales, Kate Strange, says that while many Kiwis visit the Show each year, the new packages are designed to make it as easy as possible for people of all ages to experience the unique show.
“The Sydney Royal combines the best of a rural show - with the largest gathering of livestock and domestic animals in Australia - with cafes and culinary delights, carnival rides, rodeo, fashion parades and non-stop entertainment. It truly is a world class spectacle,” says Ms Strange.
One of its main attractions is the rodeo, where the toughest American, Canadian and Australian cowboys try to take reign of the roughest bulls and bucking broncos around.
“The Sydney Royal is the biggest event in the Southern Hemisphere, has some of the largest animal competitions and is unlike any other Show in the world,” adds Ms Strange.
The Sydney Royal Easter Show, which is organised and staged by the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales (RAS), begins on 5 April 2007 and runs for 14 days until 18 April 2007.
Special travel packages are available through House of Travel on www.houseoftravel.co.nz or 0800 838 747.
