Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone puts out SOS call for Untouched World clothes
Hollywood actress Sharon Stone has put out an urgent call to leading New Zealand lifestyle designer Untouched World for
more of their clothes for her wardrobe.
Stone discovered Untouched World clothing just before the Oscars earlier this year and her agent has contacted
Untouched World this week desperately seeking more garments from their latest collection.
In March immediately before the Oscars, Untouched World chief executive Peri Drysdale raced across Beverley Hills by
taxi in pouring rain to deliver some of her designs to Stone who was heading off on a world tour.
Last year Drysdale and her designer daughter Emily were invited to an exclusive weekend retreat with A list celebrities
and their stylists including all the nominees of the 2006 Golden Globes in the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive.
Emily Drysdale is the head designer and the creative mind behind the Untouched World brand’s clothing collections.
Peri Drysdale said they were invited to meet the A list celebrities as a result of stylist guru Cameron Silver writing
about Untouched World in Vogue’s website, Style.com.
``Our clothing was subsequently included in the prizes for Golden Globes winners and Felicity Huffman wrote to us to
say she loved her sweater jacket so much that she wore it to the set of Desperate Housewives every day,’’ Peri Drysdale
said today.
``She said she loved our company and has been a great ambassador for us over there. Now we have just received this
urgent message via Sharon Stone for more clothes for her.’’
Reese Witherspoon, Joaquin Phoenix, George Clooney, Michael Keaton, Tom Hanks, Bill Clinton, Naomi Watts, Denzil
Washington, Keifer Sutherland, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Cruise are other celebrities who wear Untouched World gear.
Just last week Untouched World announced it will open its fifth store in Wellington in March. They have two stores in
Christchurch, one in Auckland and one in Queenstown.
Last month they were named the Deloittes / Management top 200 business ethics award winner, having been a finalist in
2002 and 2004 and the emerging enterprise winner two years ago.
The new Wellington store will be site on the corner of Featherstone and Brandon Streets in a building being
redeveloped.
