Ministry of Justice Announces Preferred Telco and IT Services Supplier
The Ministry of Justice today announced the selection of Gen-i as the preferred supplier to enter into final contract
negotiations for the supply of telecommunications services and also for supply of information technology support
services.
The announcement is the result of parallel tender processes started in December 2005 to select suppliers of
telecommunications services and of information technology support services for five years from July 2007.
“The Ministry currently has over a dozen telecommunications and information technology services suppliers, a legacy from
the merger of the former Ministry of Justice and the former Department of Courts in 2003,” says Technology and Services
General Manager Carol Abernethy.
“We were looking for proven ability to manage our existing services and also be capable of supporting our future
technology needs. Gen-i clearly demonstrated they are able to do this and presented the best proposal for each tender.”
The Ministry and Gen-i will now negotiate details of the contracts for the two service areas with a view to finalising
the contracts in December 2006. The Ministry expects to complete the transition to Gen-i by June 2007.
See the attached backgrounder for more information on the tender.
