New Identity For THL Group
The THL Group has today announced the launch of its new name and brand identity. From today, the combined businesses of Broadcast Communications Ltd (New Zealand), THL Australia and AAP Communications Services (Australia) will come under the unifying banner of Kordia.
THL’s chief executive Geoff Hunt says that the business has been undergoing some significant changes over the past year, and that the launch of a new name and identity is just the next step in the process.
“Kordia is already a highly successful business, with an ambition to achieve a lot more. With recent changes and a new name, we have harnessed the combined skills of our three businesses to create a more powerful, harmonised organisation.”
Hunt says that as telecommunications and broadcast converge, the Australasian and regional market is showing opportunities for a company with a history and understanding in both.
“Kordia is a company with the scale, resource, partnerships and infrastructure to embrace the advancements of technology. We have a solid track record of innovative, industry-recognised solutions with the expert skills and curiosity to think – and deliver – outside the square,” he says.
Kordia has a long heritage and proven track record in all facets of radio engineering and broadcast communications, including design, build, operations, maintenance and international consultancy.
Kordia operates one of the largest telecommunications networks in New Zealand, with a wireless broadband access reach into rural areas that is second only to Telecom. A key capability in Australia is the deployment of large scale mobile phone networks and the provision of maintenance and engineering support to network operators.
“Until now, Kordia has been something of a sleeping giant. We already work across most of the technologies in the broadcast and telecommunications space and if we’re not, we are preparing to,” says Hunt.
“Now we are focused on delivering solutions for our customers that will really meet their needs.”
The name Kordia comes from the Latin ‘accordia’ meaning harmony – bringing people and technology together as one.
