Zeacom Reigns Supreme at AmCham-UPS Business Awards
Auckland, New Zealand, November 9, 2006 - Zeacom was recognised not once, but twice, at the seventh annual AmCham Awards in Auckland last night. The AmCham Awards celebrate business innovation and success in the import, export, investment and tourism sectors between New Zealand and its second largest trading partner, the US.
Zeacom fended off strong competition from four other finalists to win the Exporter of the Year – Services and Technology Award and was also selected from the three key category winners to receive the AmCham Supreme Award.
Ross Mathieson of Insight Systems explains why the AmCham judges singled out Zeacom as their supreme winner.
“This was in recognition of Zeacom proving their product in New Zealand first before establishing their significant niche market in the United States. This was primarily achieved by their founder and CEO Miles Valentine committing the company to this goal by himself relocating to California to identify with their potential client base and to head their marketing and sales drive locally. To weather their initial forays, Zeacom also took on strong New Zealand investment partners to assist in reaching their now successful international market-place share. AmCham congratulates them on their success in this competitive field.”
Another judge at this year’s awards, Michael Stanley, Director at Ernst & Young, describes Zeacom as "an exciting, innovative company successfully exploiting the US market by way of continual innovation and strategic relationships. An inspiration for other NZ companies striving to succeed in the challenging but potentially rewarding US market.”
Zeacom released the latest version of its contact center and unified messaging software in the US earlier this year. Zeacom Version 4.0 is now available in the Americas, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Miles Valentine, Zeacom CEO is delighted that the company’s achievements in the US have been recognised by the American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand.
“We are thrilled to receive these awards. The USA is our biggest market and the one that has the most potential. To be recognised by AmCham in New Zealand is very significant for us.”
