Red Rooster Takes The ‘F’ Word Out Of Chicken
Hamilton, November 8 2006 – Red Rooster, the good chicken fast food company announced today that it is taking the ‘F’ word out of chicken and pledges to only give Hamiltonians the best tasting, barn-raised roasted chicken in the whole world of New Zealand with its new store in Hillcrest.
Red Rooster, which was voted the best fast food restaurant in Australia, says it is time that Hamiltonians and Kiwis were given salvation from fried food and the ‘F’ word was replaced with the delicious, tender taste you only get with slow roasted chicken.
Roger Gower, Chairman of Red Rooster says that luckily for Hamilton and Kiwi food lovers, Red Rooster is spreading its wings by opening its sixth restaurant in Hamilton’s Hillcrest at 247 Clyde Road.
“Red Rooster has always been honest about giving Kiwis chicken that is slowly cooked to perfection along with a healthy range of coleslaw, peas, potato sides that we know bring out the delicious flavours of healthy barn-raised birds,” says Gower.
“I call on all Hamiltonians to stand up for their right to eat good, healthy, barn-raised roasted chicken – I also call on anyone to tell me Red Rooster roast chickens aren’t the best they’ve ever tasted, and if not we’ll raise a few feathers about it!”
Gower says that Red Rooster didn’t just fly into Hamilton overnight and has a recipe of success that has been carefully crafted over 34 years.
“We’re no fly by night turkeys that’s for sure! You don’t get voted the healthiest chicken in Australia unless you have a great recipe for success like Red Rooster does. Ok so we’re not too fond of the Sydney Roosters, but we’re pretty sure Red Rooster will hit the right spot with Hamiltonians and Kiwis.”
“We’re also proud of being old fashioned when it comes to preparing all our chicken meals to perfection – only the best tasting, healthy tender chicken roasted slowly will do in Red Rooster stores”.
Gower also says that Red Rooster is naturally very fussy about their chickens.
“Who wants fat, hormonal chicks? Red Rooster’s birds run around in a barn all day and only have hormones they were born with, so they’re fit and lean and wouldn’t know a battery hen if they pecked one – naturally they get cranky about once a month but what good chick doesn’t!”
Red Rooster also says that a certain ‘Colonel’ doesn’t like to admit that bad oil plays a large part in his fry ups but honesty combined with slow roasting makes the best tasting chicken.
“We simply ensure that Red Rooster’s chickens are delivered fresh daily, and that they’re marinated for 24 hours before being slow roasted for an hour in our state-of-the art ovens. That way only Red Rooster chickens come out tender and moist, and all the fat drops to the bottom of the tray. And yes, we did consider bottling it and selling it but not to that certain ‘Colonel’ – he can keep his so called secret herbs and spices!”
Gower states that Kiwis don’t need the other ‘reds’ to tell them what to eat when only the good Red offers lots of healthy and delicious roast chicken choices.
“Better still Red Rooster promises not to pass legislation to tell anyone what to do or how to do it as we’re confident that Kiwis will naturally appreciate the healthy, succulent taste of our roast chickens.”
Red Rooster’s new Hamilton restaurant is now open at 247 Clyde Road, Hillcrest and is open every day from 11am until late.
