Halamoana Winners
The winners of the Halamoana Awards have been announced at an awards ceremony held on 29 October at the TSB Showplace. The cream of Taranaki’s hospitality and food service staff had been rewarded for their outstanding talent and commitment to this industry. The winners have been officially recognized by their peers to achieve acclaim as the best in their field.
Halamoana means ‘the movement of the traffic towards their destination and similar to the wave in the ocean’ by artist Sopoemalama Filipe Tohi. This is the inaugural year and we hope they will continue to shine on well-deserved Taranaki hospitality stars in the years to come.
Caroline Medway-Smith, Chairman of the Halamoana Awards says of the winners, “You are here tonight because you have been nominated and voted for by your own hospitality peers. This shows an acknowledgment of your performance and or your place of work - and one which you should all be proud of.”
The winners will celebrate their triumphs at the after-show party, to be held at 55, where revelry is expected to continue into the small hours of the morning.
