Kiwi Grocery Shoppers Can Fill Tanks At Gull
Auckland, 26 October 2006 - Gull New Zealand announced that it was delighted to offer discount petrol to Woolworths, Foodtown and Countdown customers
who purchase $40 of groceries as part of a new nationwide fuel promotion scheme launched today.
The Grocery Fuel Discount Programme (the programme) is being organised by Progressive Enterprises (Woolworths, Foodtown and Countdown supermarkets nationwide) in association with Gull New Zealand and Shell. The programme allows qualifying shoppers who buy groceries at any Progressive supermarkets the opportunity to earn a discount fuel voucher (of four cents per litre) that can be redeemed at Gull stations.
Gull New Zealand General Manager Dave Bodger says that the fuel discount programme offers a real point of difference for New Zealand motorists and consumers.
"Kiwi drivers can now shop at their favourite Woolworths, Foodtown or Countdown store and know that in return they can always then come to Gull and receive a valuable discount on their fuel purchases - for today's busy and growing families saving four cents a litre represents tremendous, ongoing value, " says Bodger.
Shoppers at any of the Progressive stores will be pleasantly surprised when they consistently receive a fuel discount voucher along with their till receipt every time they spend $40 as the programme is here to stay - shoppers can fill their tanks at Gull stations throughout the North Island."
"We are confident that because similar discount schemes have been so highly successful in Australia over the last few years that New Zealand consumers and motorists will also have a chance to benefit from significant savings as well as a distinct choice about how and where they budget for household groceries and fuel."
"Gull New Zealand has always prided itself in having a role of consistently delivering Kiwi motorists real innovation and choice in the retail fuel sector, and this fuel discount programme is yet another example of that."
