Orcon named New Zealand's fastest growing ISP
Orcon was last night named New Zealand's fastest growing ISP in the 2006 Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50.
It is the third year that the Auckland-based internet service and communications provider has featured in the Fast 50, having previously been included in 2003 and 2004. This year Orcon placed number 49 in the top 50, registering an impressive 149% revenue growth.
"This is a big achievement for us, and one that we are particularly proud of. Achieving outstanding growth, and maintaining that growth year on year is one of our biggest goals" said Orcon CEO Seeby Woodhouse.
Orcon was the only Internet Service Provider or Telecommunications provider included in this year’s Fast 50. This recognition follows hard on the heals of another major accolade, the TUANZ (Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand) ISP of the year award which Orcon took out two weeks ago.
"We think our continued growth is testament to our focus on delivering outstanding service to our customers. New Zealand consumers and businesses are voting with their wallets and choosing to give a greater proportion of their telecommunications and internet spend to Orcon" continued Woodhouse.
Orcon has expanded their product and service offerings substantially in the last 12 months, launching such products as toll calling and web development. They have also announced their intention to roll out a next generation network in the post-LLU environment.
"We are confident that we can continue to provide New Zealanders with innovative products backed with outstanding service, and this will see us maintain our growth" concluded Woodhouse.
Orcon has sustained a high level of growth over the past 4 years to become New Zealand's 4th biggest ISP, and the largest ISP that is 100% New Zealand owned and operated.
