Telecom New Zealand Opens Singapore Office
Telecom New Zealand International (TNZI) is expanding its global operations with the opening of a new Singapore office this week.
TNZI is an established provider of telecommunications services including a choice of international voice termination services, IP Voice, data, video telephony and other enhanced services.
TNZI Head of International Wholesale John Mitchell said the opening of the Singapore office marks a significant milestone in Telecom’s increasing commitment to the Asia region.
“The opening of the Singapore office will be a key factor in enabling us to extend our next-generation soft switch network into Asia,” Mr Mitchell said.
“Having an office in Singapore will provide new sales opportunities and means we will be on-the-spot in another key Asian commercial centre, ready to meet the needs of our Asian customers in their own market.”
“Mobile network operators need to be able to offer their customers next-generation technologies and applications to retain customers and maintain revenues,” Mr Mitchell said.
“TNZI is developing a range of new best-in-class wholesale solutions specifically for mobile operators that enable them to better support their customers by providing access to value-added services and new technologies.
Our new mobile services aim to address mobile operators’ needs by providing high quality worldwide routes and leading-edge services such as worldwide roaming enablement, international signalling, and innovative multimedia and emerging services such as video telephony and mobile content provision.
To celebrate the opening of the Singapore office, TNZI will host a reception for telecommunications carriers in Singapore this week, the same week as the Singapore 3GSM Conference.
Acting New Zealand High Commissioner Lisa White will attend the event to welcome Telecom New Zealand’s International division to Singapore.
“The New Zealand High Commission welcomes TNZI’s decision to establish an office in Singapore, Mrs White said.
“Singapore is an ideal location for New Zealand companies to strengthen their relationships with Asia and opening a Singapore office will provide TNZI with significant opportunities for success in further extending its soft switch network and mobile service offerings into the region.
“New Zealand has a strong entrepreneurial culture and is a world leader in innovation with a lot to offer the Asia region. We look forward to seeing more New Zealand businesses make the same strategic move into Asia.”
TNZI has offices in Wellington, Auckland, Sydney, London, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore, and points of presence in Melbourne, Frankfurt and Miami and may also open an office in Dubai in the near future.
