42 BELOW turns water into gold
420 Water scoops more gongs for the 42 BELOW trophy cabinet
New Zealand's 420 Volcanic Spring Water has struck gold on the world stage this week, winning two top awards at the prestigious bottledwaterworld design awards in Italy.
420 Water came up trumps against a record 135 entries from 30 countries, taking home the award for Best PET Bottle and
Best Press Marketing Campaign.
Dion Nash, 420 Water Bloke, says he's stoked with the awards and pays special tribute to designers Simon Oosterdijk and
Kelvin Soh at The Wilderness, and Darryl Parsons at creative agency Consortium.
"We've always known the Wilderness's lava lamp styling of 420 make it the coolest water on the planet, but it's nice to
have cold hard proof," Dion says.
"Winning the Best Press Marketing Campaign is a massive achievement as well," he adds. "The 420 campaign was created by
Consortium on a shoestring for a New Zealand audience. It's great to see a small-budget Kiwi project leading the world."
Now in its fifth year, the bottledwaterworld design awards is the only global contest judging innovative design and
marketing efforts made by bottled water producers. The gala awards ceremony took place at the San Pellegrino Casino in
Italy as part of the Zenith International Global Bottled Water Congress in Bergamo, north east of Milan.
The 420 awards will be added to 42 BELOW's already groaning trophy cabinet. It's got more gongs than a Buddhist temple
for 42 BELOW, SOUTH Gin and Stil Vodka. 42 BELOW is now the world's most awarded vodka, scoring a 'Grand Slam' clean
sweep in 2006 with gold at all four of the world's leading spirit competitions.
