CIMA to Develop Joint Qualification With New Zealand Chartered Accountants
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) have concluded an alliance agreement through which they will jointly develop a qualification for accountants in business in New Zealand.
Speaking in London, CIMA President John Coghlan said:
'This new strategic alliance builds on the close relationship we have developed with the New Zealand Institute, and we are excited by the opportunity to combine CIMA's expertise in the qualification and support of business accountants with NZICA's pre-eminent position in New Zealand, to develop a qualification tailored to the needs of accountants in business.'
Speaking in New Zealand, NZICA President, Mr Keith Wedlock said: 'We are exploring a number of other options for practical actions arising from the alliance, with the overriding objective of benefiting members of both bodies, as well as working in the interests of the wider business community. Such options include information exchange, reciprocal support for one another's members and joint education programmes.'
