Royal New Zealand Air Force Gets Txt Savvy!
The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) is launching a new txt channel into their current recruitment strategy. This txt
channel will enable potential recruits to find out more information about a career in the Air Force in a compelling,
easy and cost effective manner.
The txt channel allows potential recruits to send through a keyword, then their name and postal address, through to the
code 223 and receive an information pack about the Air Force.
After receiving the information pack, the potential recruits also have the option of txting a keyword and their
town/city through to 223. This information is then forwarded to the appropriate Regional Recruitment Officer who will
give them a call on the next business day.
The txt channel also allows potential recruits to join the RNZAF txt service to receive future information about events
and activities happening within the Air Force.
Squadron Leader Shaun Sexton, Director of Recruiting, said;
“By implementing this communication channel the Air Force hopes to improve engagement with potential recruits in a
technology savvy manner and spread the word that the RNZAF offers fun, exciting and challenging career opportunities for
New Zealanders”.
Justin Boersma, Director of specialist mobile enablement company Run The Red who developed the RNZAF txt channel said:
“Run The Red is really excited to be working with RNZAF to implement this txt channel, as we believe it is the perfect
channel in which to engage and interact with their youth target market”.
