New CEO for New Zealand Hotel Council
NZHC appoints new CEO
The New Zealand Hotel Council has appointed Mark Oldershaw as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mark is currently
Director of the Visits and Ceremonial Office, the agency responsible for directing all official guest of government
visits to New Zealand.
He has worked at senior levels of Government to ensure that New Zealand is portrayed in the best possible light to
international official visitors in order to facilitate investment and development in New Zealand industry, trade,
culture and tourism. Mark has also held a number of senior management positions in the public and private sectors,
including General Manager of World of WearableArt Ltd.
NZHC Appointments Committee Chairman, David Shackleton, says there was a great deal of interest in the position and the
Board is delighted to have such a high-calibre person to lead the organisation into the next stage of its development.
“Since it was established four years ago, NZHC has worked hard to build strong relationships with its large hotel and
serviced apartment members as well as key tourism and business partners and political leaders.
“We are recognised and regarded as a credible, professional organisation that not only represents the interests of a
growing membership throughout the country, but also actively participates in the future development and success of the
wider tourism industry.”
David Shackleton says NZHC has a number of significant research, technology, training and member benefits projects
underway and is well positioned to move into the next stage of its growth.

Mark Oldershaw will start his new role in late September
