Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery: Go Gecko
Allan Mitchell, Sales Manager for Go Gecko Real Estate said today that the entry of a new fixed fee real estate company
into the market was simply a case of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery.
“We’ve grown from one office in Tauranga 18 months ago, to 15 offices throughout the country, which is proof that New
Zealanders are welcoming the fixed fee approach to selling real estate,” said Allan Mitchell.
“We came into this market to revolutionise real estate and we will continue to set the pace for others to follow.”
In the past 18 months Go Gecko has sold more than 300 houses with a total market value of $110 million and in the
process saved vendors just over $3 million, which they would have lost if they’d used a traditional agency using the
standard commission structure.
“The entry of The Joneses only confirms what we believed at the time we brought the Go Gecko concept to New Zealand,
that we could offer the full range of real estate services to vendor for a reasonable fee,” said Allan Mitchell.
“At the time certain industry figures suggested that the concept wouldn’t take hold here and that we were ‘cheap.’ We
are not cheap, we are reasonable.
“As fixed fees become more common, and we predict that they will, people need to look at the experience and market
knowledge of real estate agents and the services they provide.
“We deliver value, we save people money and we provide exceptional service. At the end of the day, price is just one
component of the total package,” said Allan Mitchell.
