Mortgage Link scoops major awards

Brokers from the Mortgage Link group have won two of the major awards at the NZMBA Mortgage Broker of the Year awards, held last week in Christchurch.

The awards, presented as part of the NZMBA annual conference, recognise outstanding achievement including service to customers, best practice and quality of advice within the highly competitive mortgage broking industry.

Mark Childs from Mortgage Link Wairarapa was judged the top performer in the central North Island region and was also runner-up to the New Zealand Broker of the Year.

Glenda French from Mortgage Link Otago won the Otago/Southland regional award for the first time. Karen Mooney from Mortgage Link Marlborough and Craig Seton from Mortgage Link Manawatu were finalists. (It was the second year that Mr Childs and Mr Seton have been the only finalists for their region).

Mortgage Link Chief Executive Rod Templeton said that the successes reflected the strength of their brand and the excellent performance of their brokers. "The finalists are decided on feedback from lenders and clients followed by the NZMBA reviewing their individual business plan and a presentation to independent judges.

"This robust process reinforces that our brokers are expert advisers in the industry," Mr Templeton said. "This year we again had the largest number of finalists and winners among the broker groups."

In the last five years Mortgage Link brokers have won 15 regional awards as well as the supreme Mortgage Broker of the Year award in 2003, and the runner-up award in 2005 and 2006, making them the best performed mortgage broking company at the awards.
