Air New Zealand US Service Update
Air New Zealand advises that the Aviation Security Service has today relaxed some restrictions on cabin baggage carried into the United States. Consequently the Airline has made the following changes:
The requirement for passengers to only carry on essential travel documents in plastic bags is ended. Normal carry on baggage is allowed.
* Electronic devices may be carried on to the aircraft, but passengers should expect to have them ready for inspection.
* Please note, aerosols, gels and liquids in carry on baggage are still prohibited. They must be placed in checked in baggage.
* Due to the possibility of further changes to security requirements, Air New Zealand is not allowing passengers to carry Duty Free liquids in the cabin on flights into the United States and United Kingdom, to avoid possible confiscation on arrival.
* The maximum allowable weight of checked in economy class baggage reverts to two items not exceeding 46kg in combined weight.
* The maximum allowable weight of carry on economy class baggage reverts to 7 kg.
* Excess baggage will be charged for any items that breach these limits
Air New Zealand will continue to regularly review baggage restrictions to minimise inconvenience to customers.
