New name for NZ’s biggest real estate website
• RealENZ becomes realestate.co.nz
• 62,000 properties available to search - more than twice as many as any other NZ real estate site
• New design underpinned by world class technology
New Zealand’s biggest and most popular real estate site is being transformed. RealENZ is being renamed and will be
powered by new world class technology that will make it even easier and more convenient for the increasing number of
national and international buyers searching for New Zealand property online.
From August 13 RealENZ will be become realestate.co.nz. The official site of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand
features over 62,000 properties for sale nationwide – more than double the number listed on any other New Zealand real
estate site – making it the best one-stop-shop for online property searches.
The Chief Executive of Realestate.co.nz Ltd, Alistair Helm, says this is an important development for anyone buying or
selling property in New Zealand.
“We’ve always been able to provide significantly more listings than anyone else. That will now be backed up by superior
technology and a new brand which clearly expresses our dominance amongst New Zealand real estate websites.
“There is no doubt that the future of real estate is online – both for listing and searching. The re-launch of the
official REINZ website as realestate.co.nz will ensure we maintain our leadership in this area, on behalf of the real
estate industry, and that we are well placed to add value for real estate salespeople, their clients and the general
public.
“We list almost all residential properties for sale across New Zealand. No other website can make that claim and no
other website can offer national and international buyers such a comprehensive database of property options. Anyone
looking for property wants the widest possible selection and anyone selling property wants to know it’s being showcased
on the most popular real estate site. The solution is clearly realestate.co.nz.”
A Nielsen/NetRatings* survey of people visiting key property websites shows the rapidly growing importance of the
Internet for both buyers and sellers.
- Seven out of 10 people surveyed used a real estate website to research property in the previous week
- 86% of respondents rated real estate websites as the most useful media option for real estate research
- Survey respondents spent more than two hours a week researching properties online
The launch of realestate.co.nz will be backed by one of the most significant marketing campaigns for a New Zealand
website this year. The multi-million dollar campaign will include television commercials, print, radio, online and
billboards to drive even more visitors to the site.
