Under the partnership, Vantex, Australasia’s largest distributor of point-of-sale equipment, will distribute IBM point-of-sale hardware to New Zealand resellers.
It is the first time IBM has appointed a distributor for its point-of-sale hardware in New Zealand.

Vantex has extensive networks within its New Zealand business with bases in the North and South Islands.

The IBM point-of-sale equipment Vantex will distribute includes IBM branded touch screen terminals, point-of-sale terminals, printers and kiosks.
Retail Store Solutions Executive for IBM Australia/New Zealand, Julia Romaniotis, said the partnership represented an opportunity for IBM to connect with resellers they had not previously worked with, and to further business opportunities in New Zealand.
“IBM is the global leader in point-of-sale hardware technology and to promote that position we need highly effective distributors and distribution channels. We are impressed with Vantex’s knowledge of the local market, it’s extensive network, it’s reliability and ability to make things happen,” said Ms Romaniotis.
Mr Ritchie said the potential for mutual gains for IBM, Provenco and Vantex through the partnership are exciting.
“Vantex and Provenco continue to go from strength to strength. This is an excellent development for us and IBM,” said Mr Ritchie.
