SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of two new trustees - world-class
athlete-turned-television presenter Jayne Kiely, and Auckland solicitor Arthur Loo.
Chairperson of the Trust, Jock Irvine, says that he is looking forward to working with the new trustees.
"We are very proud of the role our Trust plays in helping greater Auckland communities achieve their needs and
aspirations," says Mr Irvine.
"Jayne Kiely and Arthur Loo will bring two very different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to the Trust which I
believe will be a great asset as the Trust moves into its second decade." Jayne Kiely's sporting career saw her take
part in the 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games for the long jump. In 1991 she competed in the World Track and Field
Championships in Tokyo and the Indoor World Track and Field Championships in Seville, Spain. Her television career has
included a spot on 'Mountain Dew on the Edge', she was the host of 'The Weddings Show', and more recently the host of
'Mitre 10 Dream Show'.
Auckland-born Arthur Loo has been in practice as a solicitor since 1977. He was appointed a notary public in 1998. He is
a founding partner of the law firm Loo & Koo which is perhaps the largest specialist Asian practice in New Zealand.
Arthur is also the Chairperson for the Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Education (FADE), and a trustee for the Koru Care
Charitable Trust and the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation NZ. He received the New Zealand Commemorative Medal in 1990. Arthur's community service includes being
the current Deputy Chairman of the Auckland Chinese Community Centre, and he is involved with other community
organisations.

The Trust recently announced close to $3 million worth of funding in its 11th annual funding round, to 98 community
groups. This brought the total amount the Trust has distributed since Round One in 1996 to $15 million, through 822
grants.
"The 98 successful recipient groups have been invited to join the trustees for a cocktail function at SKYCITY Auckland
Convention Centre on 24 August to celebrate their success. This will be a great opportunity for Jayne and Arthur to
witness first-hand the difference the funding makes to our grassroots community groups," says Mr Irvine.
The evening will include entertainment from several successful recipients including circus magic from Dargaville's
Kumarani Productions, dancing from the Torotoro Trust, music from Manukau City Orchestral Society, and a photographic
display from the Auckland Festival of Photography Trust.
The SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust was voluntarily established in 1996, as part of SKYCITY Auckland's casino license
application process, in order to provide funds for community and charitable purposes. Funds available for distribution
are 2.5% of the net annual profit from SKYCITY Auckland or a minimum of $500,000 per annum.
