Fresh Spin On an Old Family Favourite
Gala Opening for Happy Days Western Springs
The brand new Happy Days family restaurant at Western Springs opened to a gala fanfare last night (25th July). The
latest Happy Days restaurant brings a much loved Auckland venue back to life with the freshest, top quality ingredients
prepared on the premises.
For over a decade the iconic Western Springs location was known as ‘the place to go’ for dinner and dancing. Now, with
its sparkling new kitchen and smartly renovated interior, the famous octagonal restaurant has been reborn. As one of the
largest restaurants and convention centres in Auckland, Happy Days Western Springs promises great food in an environment
to suit any occasion.
General Manager Sue Archer says: `The only items not made on our premises are the bread rolls and the brandy snaps. At
Happy Days, we pride ourselves on the freshness of our food. That’s because we make our dishes fresh each day using the
very best seasonally available ingredients. Unlike other family restaurants which buy in ready made meals to reheat, our
professional chefs are busy in the kitchen during meal times, keeping the buffet full of just-prepared delights. This is
the Happy Days difference.’
Sue who has 25 years experience in the hospitality industry, including 11 years at Happy Days, Manukau adds: `We plan to
feature live entertainment such as jazz bands during Sunday lunch and throughout the summer months. All our signature
dishes such as the Special Seafood Chowder, Baked Ham and Beef Stroganoff will be available too meaning that there will
be something for everyone.’
As well as the family buffet restaurant, the adjoining pavilion will be available for weddings, corporate functions,
birthday parties, family reunions and special events. Sue’s daughter Victoria manages corporate events and special
occasions for the venue and grand-daughter Paige helps out too, the three generations making this Happy Days restaurant
a truly family-orientated restaurant.
Happy Days Western Springs is at 956 Great North Road, Western Springs, Auckland, just down the road from M.O.T.A.T,
opposite Western Springs Park and a short stroll from Auckland Zoo.
