95% of employers and employees support Modern Apprenticeships
26 July 2006
Employer and employee support for the Modern Apprenticeship Programme has been highlighted in an evaluation released by the government today.
95% of employers[1] and employees[2] would definitely or probably recommend the Modern Apprenticeship Programme to others. This comes from surveys with a large number of responses so confidence should be high in the ability to extrapolate the result to all employers and employees involved in Modern Apprenticeships.
“I am very pleased that Modern Apprenticeships have proven this successful”, said Darel Hall Executive Director of the Industry Training Federation. “The willingness to recommend to family, friends and colleagues is an important measure of success for any programme.
“Employers say they are hiring young people more[3], which is seen in the numbers of young people coming through Industry Training, including Modern Apprenticeships.
“The learners coming through from schools are another pleasing aspect of the evaluation. There is a genuine pathway for many young people into working while they learn without the burden of a student loan.
“There is maintenance and flexibility work required on the programme to ensure it keeps delivering and keeps improving”, said Darel Hall
