More high calibre customers for Business Park
Highbrook Development Limited (“HDL”) is pleased to confirm it has secured three new pre-commitments for purpose built commercial facilities at Highbrook Business Park, East Tamaki, Auckland.
BMW New Zealand Limited (“BMW”) has signed a 10 year lease for a 4,756 sqm warehouse facility with a 3,112 sqm yard area. The premises will be used as a parts warehouse. The Highbrook location provides easy access to BMW’s headquarters in Mount Wellington.
Refrigerated transport operator, Big Chill Distribution Limited (“Big Chill”), has committed to a specialised distribution centre of 1,950 sqm featuring a chiller and freezer facility with additional office accommodation. The agreement includes future expansion rights and is based on a 15 year lease term.
The third pre-commitment is from Cottonsoft Limited (“Cottonsoft”) who has signed an Agreement to Lease for a 7,000 sqm office, light manufacturing and distribution facility. The paper tissue manufacturer is establishing a North Island base to support its existing Dunedin facility. A 12 year lease term has been agreed, with two rights of renewal of six years each.
Murray Barclay, Project Director of HDL, said “These new commitments highlight the strength in the occupier market for well located commercial space, offering high levels of amenity. Highbrook includes 40 hectares of landscaped park land and recreational facilities creating a unique and desirable environment.”
“These latest additions signal another stage in Highbrook’s development, attracting a range of businesses, all of which are very successful in their own markets. We expect demand will continue to increase over the coming months with the motorway onramp due to open in March 2007, providing customers with a direct link to the Southern Motorway.”
BMW, Big Chill and Cottonsoft join other existing high profile customers at Highbrook Business Park including, Exel New Zealand Limited (“Exel“), McPherson’s Consumer Products (NZ) Limited (“McPherson’s”) and New Zealand Post Limited (“NZ Post”). Exel opened stage one of their 23,840 sqm facility in October 2005, with stage two completed in December 2005. The adjoining McPherson’s development opened in May 2006 with the customer occupying over 8,000 sqm of office and warehouse space on a nine year lease. The 15,658 sqm mail sorting facility for NZ Post is currently under construction and is due for completion in June 2007.
