PR Identity Appointed PRINZ Fellow
Auckland, 14 July: Auckland communications identity, Armin Lindenberg, has been acknowledged for his contribution to the industry by the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand. At this year’s annual PRINZ conference Lindenberg was elected a Fellow of the Institute.
The managing director of Lindenberg & Partners, a boutique PR consultancy, Lindenberg has worked in the communications industry for 20 years and has been a long-time employer of degree and diploma PR graduates. He has a reputation as a media and event management specialist and has been media manager to the Men’s World Bowls (1988), World Cup Cricket (1992), NZ Ironman Triathlon, Benson & Hedges and Bell South Tennis Opens and the Halberg Awards.
Before entering Public relations in 1986 Lindenberg spent 17 years in mainstream journalism with the Dominion and Auckland Star, earning a reputation as one of the country’s leading all-round sports journalists covering both Olympic and Commonwealth Games, the 1982 All Whites World Cup campaign, Test rugby and cricket, the British Open golf and Wimbledon.
In 1985 he won the ‘Sports Writer’ category at the NZ Sports Journalism awards and was also voted overall ‘Sports Journalist of the Year’. He has continued his links with sports journalism as secretary of the NZ Sports Journalists Association and organiser of the annual ‘TP McLean’ National Sports Journalism awards for the last eight years.
