Telecom’s Mobile Music Store Extended to Home Computers
Telecom’s mobile music store has been enhanced so that downloaded tracks can now be played on a PC, burnt to CD or
transferred to another compatible portable music device.
Once a track has been purchased and downloaded via mobile, customers can go to www.telecom.co.nz/musicstore to download
the same track as a PC music file, in WMA format.
For this service, customers will still pay the current price of $3.50 per individual song.
Telecom’s General Manager Consumer Marketing, Kevin Bowler, says the development adds significant further value to
Telecom’s mobile music offering.
“Our customers responded really positively to ‘music on demand’ when we first launched our mobile music store, and now
we’re backing it up with a full music solution,” he says.
“It’s a simple two-step process – purchase the track from your Telecom music store capable mobile, and then go to the
website to download it to your PC.
“Plus, everyone who has previously purchased a track via the mobile Telecom Music Store will now be able to download the
PC version too, at no extra charge.”
The Telecom Music Store catalogue contains more than 450,000 songs, including around 20,000 New Zealand songs, from
record labels Universal, EMI, Warners and Sony BMG.
Telecom’s music-store capable mobiles are the Sanyo 9000, the Sanyo 7500, the Samsung A920 and the Samsung A900.
