Do more on the net with 25% more data from Orcon
Orcon today announced that customers on their Surfer Light and Surfer Pro broadband plans will enjoy 25% more free data
per month.
Orcon have added 1GB (gigabyte) to each of the Surfer Light and Surfer Pro broadband plans, taking the total amount of
free data to 5GB on each plan. 1GB of data represents approximately 200 high quality MP3 audio files, or more than 2000
standard web pages or emails.
³We are constantly reviewing our broadband offerings, taking into account the feedback we receive from customers and our
competitors offerings. This increase in free data allowance on some of our higher spec plans means they represent
outstanding value² says Scott Bartlett, General Manger of Operations and Regulatory Affairs.
Earlier this month Orcon made the bold move of introducing New Zealand¹s most affordable entry-level broadband plan,
priced at just $19.95 per month. ³While our new $19.95 plan is great for people who are using broadband as a dial-up
replacement, adding data to our higher spec plans means that our customers can do more of the things that make broadband
great, like listening to online radio, streaming video, and more² continued Bartlett.
³There are a plethora of new web-based multimedia and entertainment services being launched every month, and we want our
customers to be able to take advantage of these without having to pay more for the privilege. Customers can look forward
to much more attractive plans in the deregulated LLU environment. Until that time we will continue to offer as much data
as possible within the constraints of our wholesale agreement,² concluded Bartlett.
Orcon has sustained a high level of growth over the past 3 years to become NZ's 4th largest ISP. Previously known as a
provider of wholesale internet and business connections, Orcon has become a household name in New Zealand.
