PricewaterhouseCoopers Admits Five New Partners
PricewaterhouseCoopers celebrates the admission of five new partners to the New Zealand partnership on 1 July 2006,
bringing the total number of partners at the local firm to 89. The new partners are Keren Blakey, Brent Hulbert, Richard
Longman, Ian McLoughlin and Mark Russell.
John Shewan, Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers, said the new partner admissions reflected PricewaterhouseCoopers’
commitment to client service.
“As a Firm we’re focused on providing the best advice to the people and businesses that we work alongside,” he said. “To
deliver on that expectation it’s critical that we recognise and reward our outstanding performers.”
PricewaterhouseCoopers CEO, Warwick Hunt, said there was continued demand for solutions to the problems faced by
organisations across the business spectrum, despite some signs of economic slowdown.
“It’s very important for us to ensure we are responding to the challenges that are inevitable when the markets change
pace,” he said. “Our team has been bolstered by today’s new admissions to the local partnership – the talents of our new
partners comprise an important part of our response to the ever changing nature of our business.”
The new appointments take effect from 1 July 2006. Brief profiles of the five new partners are set out below.
Keren Blakey (Financial Assurance, Auckland)
Keren is a financial assurance specialist with deep industry knowledge of the communication, software and gaming
sectors. She also has a special interest in working with emerging and fast growing businesses.
Brent Hulbert (Advisory, New Plymouth)
Brent is a tax specialist, servicing a wide range of clients from individuals and family-owned businesses through to
significant multinationals operating in Taranaki’s rapidly expanding energy sector. He has broad experience in the area
of foreign investment into New Zealand, particularly in the oil and gas industry.
Richard Longman (Corporate Finance, Wellington)
Richard is a transactions specialist, with considerable experience in both sell- and buy-side merger and acquisition
assignments. He also focuses on general corporate advisory work.
Ian McLoughlin (Transactions Services, Auckland)
Ian is a transaction/deal specialist who provides advice to both private equity participants and corporates in New
Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region. He is an expert in the provision of vendor due diligence services.
Mark Russell (Tax, Auckland)
Mark is a corporate tax specialist with a particular focus on financial services and transactions. He is heavily
involved in the Firm's work for managed funds, and the impact of reforms in the area of offshore investment tax.
