AMP Scholarship entries close soon
Time is running out for aspiring New Zealanders to apply for a 2006 AMP Scholarship that could set them on the road to
success, with entries closing at 5pm, Friday 30 June.
This year the company will award 12 AMP Scholarships valued up to $5,000 to help talented, determined Kiwis fulfill
their potential and pursue their passion. From these winners, two exceptional recipients will be given an additional AMP
Premium Scholarship of up to $25,000.
AMP General Manager Public Affairs, Jane Anderson says, .The Scholarship Programme is not so much about providing a
monetary hand-out, more a handup, to support ordinary New Zealanders of all ages and backgrounds, in achieving
extraordinary things. .
Several of our past recipients have used the programme.s support as a launchingpad to success, so we.re really proud to
be continuing this tradition. So far this year, we.ve received a good number of high quality applications for the AMP
Scholarship Programme, which really demonstrates that there are a lot of inspirational Kiwis out there, who are showing
a determination to live their life to the full . she says.
AMP has a long history of supporting individuals and groups through its sponsorship programmes. It recently
demonstrated its commitment to supporting people in local communities nationwide through the AMP Foundation 2006
Programme, which will see grants of over $230,000 allocated to non-profit organisations.
Applications for the AMP Scholarship Programme 2006 are open until 5pm, 30 June and can be submitted online by visiting
www.amp.co.nz.
AMP Scholarship Programme
Earlier in 2006, AMP Financial Services kicked off with a lofty goal . to commit $500,000 to help up to 60 New
Zealanders turn their dreams into reality over the next five years, by way of the AMP Sponsorship Programme. The
Scholarship Programme was established in 1998 and since that time over 50 Scholarships have been awarded to
inspirational individuals.
AMP Foundation
The AMP Foundation currently sponsors four diverse community organisations that play an invaluable role in helping New
Zealanders from all walks of life, live life to the full. The recipients of the grants are the New Zealand Family
Federation of Budgeting Services, the YWCA Future leaders. Programme, Habitat for Humanity and Project K.
