Publishing Guru Returns to Lifestyle Magazines Market
Julie Dalzell, the former owner and Publisher of Cuisine, has joined Fairfax Magazines as a Publishing Consultant.
She will be working with two Fairfax Magazine titles, NZ House & Garden and Cuisine.
Fairfax Magazines General Manager Lynley Belton says Julie’s appointment is a huge coup which signals continued Fairfax Media investment in the highly competitive magazines environment.
“These lifestyle titles in the Fairfax Magazines stable are top quality publications, with loyal readers, expert contributors and excellent editors. Julie’s involvement will ensure we raise the bar and continue to achieve relevance, impact and circulation growth.
Julie is well-known as a publishing pioneer, with more then 30 years publishing experience including establishing the credentials of Cuisine with its launch in 1987. Her talent and market-knowledge is unrivalled and we are delighted she is going to share that with us,” says Lynley.
Julie Dalzell says, “After taking a break from the industry to work on my own non-publishing projects I am thrilled to be back working with award-winning Fairfax titles, and I am raring to go.
I am looking forward to contributing to the business and making the publications the best they can be. My role is to assist the editors to maintain and strengthen their offering to ensure we exceed our readers’ expectations.”
Julie’s appointment is effective immediately.
