Quotable Value Selects AT for Trans-Tasman Network
Solution Will Improve Speed and Reliability of Its Online Business
Auckland, New Zealand — June 8, 2006 — Valuation and property information company, Quotable Value (QV), has appointed AT to provide its telecommunications services in a move that will improve the performance of QV’s online business as well as its ability to operate on a trans-Tasman basis.
Quotable Value’s general manager of information technology, Bryce Johnson, said that AT offered a cost-effective solution that met the company’s trans-Tasman needs, as well as demonstrated proven service management with service-level agreements superior to its competition.
“The network fault resolution processes that AT offered gave us considerable confidence that any service interruptions would be resolved quickly,” said Johnson. “Secure telecommunications is vital to our Internet and valuation business. Our clients rely on regular access to our database of property information, resulting in approximately 60,000 visitors to our Web site per month.”
“In addition, the installation and change over to the new AT circuits went unnoticed in our Australian offices, which means there were no disruptions and everything worked the first time,” Johnson continued.
AT New Zealand’s general manager, Roger Payne, said his team would provide a fully integrated service that includes three key ingredients:
1.      A core service, based on AT’s Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network product (IP VPN), offering the ability to deliver video, voice and data applications
2.      A small office-and-home user service, providing “virtual tunneling” to more than 50 users in New Zealand and overseas with secure remote access
3.      A self-healing core network, providing a diverse, resilient core between New Zealand and Australia — to improve the performance of QV’s online commercial engine
AT’s work with Quotable Value demonstrates the ability of its global network to successfully serve medium- to large-sized New Zealand-based businesses, especially those requiring trans-Tasman or international linkages.
“We have a single view of the entire network, which we proactively manage for our customers. This enables us to minimize interruptions to their businesses and deliver a high quality of service,” said Payne. “Particularly for medium to large providers, like Quotable Value, maintaining contact with several points of service throughout the network is essential. We are confident that our global network will provide Quotable Value with the network reliability and transparency it needs.”
