Orcon sees extra growth due to Xtra’s outages, increases bandwidth
A dramatic increase in customers joining Orcon Internet has been attributed to recent outages on Telecom’s network.
“Mum’s and dad’s generally choose Xtra because they are the largest service provider, but we have seen over the past few weeks that the increase in outages at Xtra has meant a number of customers are switching to Orcon.” says Scott Bartlett, General Manager of Operations and Regulatory.
Orcon has seen significant growth over the past year, and we have increased our investment in staff and network accordingly. Today Orcon also announces another increase in bandwidth that will give their current customers even better international speeds, possibly the best in the industry.
“Outages make people start shopping around, and they soon see that Orcon provides up to 10 times higher data allowances, and has excess charges that are up to 10 times lower.” continued Bartlett.
“We always welcome new customers to Orcon, and we find that they like not only our competitive plans, but also our customer focus and the fact we are 100% kiwi owned and operated.”
Orcon has sustained a high level of growth over the past 3 years to become NZ’s 4th largest ISP. Previously known as a provider of wholesale internet and business connections, Orcon has become a household name in New Zealand.
