Cardrona Launches E-Commerce Site
Cardrona Alpine Resort today (31 May) launched a comprehensive e-commerce web site allowing skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the convenience of an online one-stop-shop when planning their winter holiday.
The site will enable visitors to Cardrona to book and pay for their entire land package online, including accommodation in both Lake Wanaka and Queenstown, car hire and shuttle buses as well as lift, rental and lessons packages at the ski area.
Cardrona marketing manager, Bruce McGechan said the development was a huge step forward for both Cardrona and the New Zealand ski industry as a whole.
“In North America, 20-25% of ski holidays to the major resorts are booked through their web sites – that’s a massive number of people who are relying solely on the Internet to plan their trips,” he said. “We’ve seen how the Internet has changed people’s approach to airline bookings and now we’re seeing that shift in attitude filter through to other areas of the travel industry.”
For full details on the new site, visit www.cardrona.com. Cardrona opens for the 2006 season on 23 June with a planned closing date of 8 October.
