Daniel Le Brun Release Wine In Honour Of Their Winemaker

Top Marlborough winemakers, Cellier Le Brun, are celebrating their chief winemaker Mark Inglis' ascent of Mt Everest
with the release of a premium aged vintage wine in his honour, appropriately named Summit 8850. Each bottle is
individually numbered up to 8850, representing the number of metres the double amputee climbed to the summit, making
this a truly limited edition wine.
Cellier Le Brun general manager Neville Marr, said that the wine is an acknowledgement of Inglis’ outstanding
achievement. Mark was presented with bottle number 8850 when he arrived back in New Zealand last week.
"It’s not every day that your chief winemaker climbs to the top of Mt Everest,” said Mr Marr. “Mark is one of the
family, he is inspirational, a top bloke and makes fantastic wine. Releasing a wine in his honour seems the most fitting
way for us to congratulate his success. We've selected what we think is the very best wine from our cellars and put a
personal label on it.” The wine has been released and is available to the public from this week. The limited edition
bottles have been numbered from 6400, the altitude of Advanced Base Camp on Everest. “To support Mark's passion to make
a difference in the world, Cellier Le Brun are donating ten dollars from the sale of every bottle of Summit 8850 to
Mark's chosen charity, the Cambodia Trust and its Kompong Chh’nang Rehabilitation Centre”, Mr. Marr said.
“Mark is extremely passionate about life and everything he sets out to achieve,“ continued Marr. “By raising money for
the Cambodia Trust Mark is trying to make a difference in the lives of people who may not be able help themselves.
Raising money for limbs from selling wine seems very appropriate in Mark’s case.”
The limited release wine has already attracted attention from as far away as England, with the Cambodia Trust's U.K.
headquarters supporting the fundraising effort, and Cellier Le Brun’s English distributor ordering their first pallet.
