Five Star rating for Northland resort
Carrington, New Zealand’s most northern luxury resort, has received Qualmark’s Five Star hotel rating. Only eight other hotels in the country have attained the same rating and Carrington is the only hotel north of Auckland .
General Manager Mark Rose said the rating was a great reward for Carrington staff. “We have always worked to attain the five star rating and are delighted to be recognized as one of an exclusive group of properties at this level,” said Rose.
Since it opened three years ago Carrington has developed into a comprehensive resort bringing a new level of hotel style and amenities to the North. In addition to imaginative cuisine Carrington has its own vineyard and state of the art winery, Karikari Estate, which produces gold medal winning wines. The resort has a championship, 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts and skeet shooting as well as conference facilities. The resort’s prime location on the Karikari Peninsula also provides first class fishing said Rose.
Carrington, located on Northland’s Karikari Peninsula, is also a member of Select Hotels & Resorts International top tier properties.
