Radio Live Announces New Afternoon Hosts
Following Kerry Smith's recent decision to move to the new Breeze, Radio Live today announced a new line up for its weekday 12-3pm slot.
Former MPs Willie Jackson & John Tamihere will team up from this Monday to host a new talk back program that is guaranteed to liven up afternoon radio listening, according to Mitch Harris, Radio Live’s Program Director.
“Willie and JT have an infectious enthusiasm on air that listeners will enjoy. They don’t always agree on things - in fact they probably disagree with each other more often than they agree, but that’s what hooks you in as a listener.”
Aside from their political background, both hosts have an active involvement in a range of businesses outside of radio.
“Both Willie and JT will bring to their hosting role a huge amount of life experience. They are actively involved in business and various social causes. These two guys understand the issues that affect all New Zealanders. They’re not grandstanders…they are passionate in their beliefs about making New Zealand a better country for both Maori and Pakeha.”
Their addition to Radio Live will bring to four the number of former MP’s now working on RadioWorks stations which includes Michael Laws who hosts mornings on Radio Live and former cabinet minister John Banks who hosts breakfast on Radio Pacific.
