May 25 edition of the BNZ Weekly Overview
Welcome to the May 25 edition of the BNZ Weekly Overview.
The Kiwi dollar has rebounded to 63.4 US cents over the past week and risen above 84 cents against the Australian currency. This comes on the back of some slightly better than expected export data in New Zealand plus falls in minerals commodities prices pushing the Australian dollar lower and causing some profit-taking from those who recently have been selling the Kiwi dollar and buying the Aussie currency. Wholesale interest rates are basically unchanged over the week and on the data front nothing too spectacular has appeared.
