Hudson response to ANZ Job Vacancy Rate
An increase in the number of businesses taking on contractors instead of employees is behind the fall in national
newspaper job vacancy rates, according to recruitment firm and human resources consultancy, Hudson.
The ANZ Job Vacancy survey for the March quarter saw the national newspaper job vacancy rate fall to a 12-month low.
Hudson general manager Peter Harbidge said: "In the uncertain economic climate employers are acting cautiously, choosing
contractors to allow flexibility.
"Because contracting positions are often not advertised in newspapers, this is having an impact on these vacancy rates."
