Quest Software Invests in New Zealand Market and Plans to Accelerate Growth With Wellington Office
Acquisition of AfterMail Limited strengthens Quest Software’s commitment to New Zealand and adds a research and
development presence
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wellington – May 9, 2006
Quest Software (Nasdaq; QSFT), has announced the launch of its new office in Wellington. The new office, previously the
headquarters of AfterMail, Ltd., which Quest recently acquired, demonstrates the company’s investment in the New Zealand
market and reflects its plans to continue supporting the local IT industry with a commitment to research and development
and sales.
The opening of the new office in New Zealand’s most concentrated city of software developers follows Quest Software’s
entry into the New Zealand market with the acquisition of the Wellington-based privately held company AfterMail Limited,
a leader in enterprise e-mail intelligence. The AfterMail product is now marketed by Quest under the name Quest Archive
Manager, and offers a strong and truly intelligent solution which enhances the overall value and investments that
business and government are making in their critical messaging infrastructure.
In addition to the e-mail archiving technology, Quest Software’s solutions for Windows Management, Database Management
and Applications Management are available to customers throughout New Zealand.
The office will be headed by Quest Software’s newly appointed Country Director Lawrence Russell who joined the company
with the acquisition of AfterMail. Russell was part of the senior management team at AfterMail for three years, where he
was responsible for sales and marketing across Australasia.
“We are pleased to announce the opening of our Wellington office, which reflects the opportunities we see for growth in
this market,” Russell said. “Quest’s acquisition of AfterMail has led the way for our direct presence in New Zealand and
puts us in a great position to deliver effective solutions to businesses and government within the application, database
and Windows infrastructure markets.”
Martyn Pregnell, Managing Director, Quest Software Australia and New Zealand, said “We are committed to investing in R and local talent to best meet the needs of local customers and allow us to provide innovative solutions supported by
quality service. We have plans to take Quest New Zealand on a strong growth curve. This also enhances our global partner
strategy by creating additional opportunities for local organisations to partner with Quest Software.”
